Lanterns to Hang From Your Ceiling

Today I'll be showing you how to make origami paper lanterns. They look so beautiful and are not at all complicated to make. Once you have several origami lanterns, you can hang them from your ceiling. They look very pretty. I'm doing this because I've seen a lot of decorations hanging from the ceiling and thought I'd hang something from my ceiling as well.

Note: I learned to create these lanterns from an origami website. You can learn how to make the lanterns here. I really enjoyed this website. It's really good for all types of origami. I suggest exploring the site and getting more familiar with origami. It's really fun to do once you get the hang of it.

My huge stack of lanterns! I secured them with tape on the back. Usually, if you don't tape them on the back they will start to pry open at the back. That's what happens with my origami paper. Some types of origami paper don't do that. These are super quick to make. It took me exactly ten minutes to make all of these. I also love the shiny gold origami paper I used on the bottom right. With that paper, it doesn't pry open at the back.

These are my lanterns hanging up. I taped each end of a string to two separate lanterns. I then hung the middle. This isn't the most secure way and you may need help. If you hang them from hooks it works better. Ask an adult to help you. You may need a ladder to get all the way up to the ceiling. I only did one row, but you can hang them all over your ceiling. Try and use a strong tape.

I hope you had fun making this. I'm looking forward to the next DIY!
