Two in One

Hey everyone. As you can see in the title, I'll be doing two crafts today. This is my last post on room deco. BTW, I really enjoyed the first two crafts I showed you. My first craft today will be on how to make a rose out of streamers. It may not look attractive to you, so before you start, there's a picture below of the final product.  

I prefer using a streamer roll. That's what I'll be using today. I'll be using this hot pink roll shown below. 

The first step is to cut four strips. They all need to be the same length, and they have to be pretty long. They need to be cut longer than you think. I'd say each about one yard long. If they get tangled, don't worry. That's completely fine. The longer you cut each one, the larger the rose will be. 

As you can see, my four strings are kind of jumbled together. That's completely okay. You do need to separate all the strings, though. This takes up quite a lot of streamers. I don't have very accurate measurement. I think my streamers are more than one yard. The next part is super fun. When you are making roses out of streamers, it's all about texture. You have to crinkle all the strings. Try and make them as straight as possible when you're done crinkling. Below is kind of what the streamers will look like after they're crinkled. 

The next step is to do a four strand braid if you don't know how to do this, I'll show you, but first, you have to tape everything together at the top.

Tape them together a little below the top. The first step in a four strand braid is to take the string farthest to the left and bring it over the string to its right.

Now you take the same string you just overlapped with and go under the string to its right.

Now, you take the string you just went under with, and overlap it on top of the string to its right. 

Now you repeat the process and start over again with the very first step of four strand braiding where you pick up the string farthest to the left. Keep going in this pattern until you have about two inches of streamers left over. Braid loosely. Tape the other end where you finished.

Next, wrap it kind of like a spiral.

Do this till the whole thing is used up. Then, tape the end to the ring behind it like shown below.

Tape the inside just like you taped the outside.

Now just hang it up! These roses can be put up anywhere.

Now the next thing I wanted to tell you about isn't really a craft, but it really adds color and inspiration to your room. Use colorful markers and in big letters write quotes from famous people like Einstein. Then, decorate and doodle them. Add glitter. Do anything to make the quotes colorful. Tape them in an area in your room that's completely blank and needs deco. I hope you had fun decorating your room!
